About Mā Umā-Pārvatī
Mā Umā-Pārvatī (Kirin Mishra) has dedicated decades in sādhanā (meditation and spiritual practice), learning and teaching the ancient philosophical and yoga systems of India. Rooted in the traditions of Śrī Vidyā and the Vedas, her teachings reflect a rare combination of traditional rigor and lived integration, and are calibrated for a contemporary culture, language, and mindset.
Born in India and now living in semi-retreat, Mā is a mother, grandmother, and lineage-holder. Her life as a householder and teacher gives her a rare capacity to speak to the lived nuance of practice. She continues to refine and transmit the subtle teachings of Śrī Vidyā through writing and direct engagement with students.
